A Chat with Two Families that Shaped This Nation’s Destiny


St. Louis, Mo. – The descendants of two families who contributed immensely to the fabric of this nation will hold an afternoon chat about their unique historical relationship on Sat., Feb 15, 2014, at the Carondelet Historical Society, St. Louis, Mo. Dred Scott family descendants, Lynne Jackson and Sherrie Jackson of the Dred Scott Heritage Foundation and Peter Blow family descendants, John Le Bourgeois and Ashton Le Bourgeois, co-authors of “The Blows of Yesterday: An American Saga,” will join in a display of mutual respect and public affirmation. The program will be in the museum, once the school building, where Susan Blow started the first federally funded kindergarten.

The afternoon will include a dramatization by the Dred Scott Theater Troupe, directed by Peggy Neely-Harris, and narrated by Donna Kimbrough. This will be followed by a Q and A and book signings:
