City of Haterz

DVD Documentary

City of Haterz , a documentary produced by local filmmaker Horace Williams, examines Black on Black hatred.  Analyzing a possible consequence of slavery, Wiliams asks the hard question; “Does St. Louis have a slave mentality or does it even exit?”  Recently written up in the St. Louis Riverfront Times, an honest assessment of the documentary is given, spurring on the dialogue its creator intended.

Williams highlights the Dred Scott Case as part of St. Louis’ history of slavery,  as well as interviews many other St. Louisans most of whom, if not all, concur that there is a problem.  Yet, not all have given up hope.  Thoughts on ways to advance from the presumed state are presented by some of the interviewees.  For an eye opening, candid view in one area of the need for reconciliation, a purpose on which The Dred Scott Heritage Foundation was founded, preview the trailer at  stlCityofhaterz.com .   Included in the documentary are Dr. John Wright, Mr. Percy Green, Mr. Norman Saey and  Mrs. Lynne Jackson, all who donated their time to assist this aspiring filmmaker.
